4. Categories on this website

4.1. Necessary (always active)

These technologies are required for the operation of the website (e.g. security features, session management, page rendering).

Without these technologies, the website cannot function properly.

4.2. Analytics (consent only) – Google Analytics 4

If you consent to the "Analytics" category, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to analyse the usage of our website and improve our offering.
Cookies may be set and usage data processed (e.g. page views, interactions, technical information).

Google (typically Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Depending on the configuration, data may also be transferred to affiliated companies (e.g. in the USA).

Typical cookie examples from GA4 (names may vary depending on implementation):

  • _ga – Purpose: recognition/visitor ID; typical storage duration: up to 2 years
  • _ga_<container-id> – Purpose: session status/interactions; typical storage duration: up to 2 years

Event data retention in GA4: 14 months.

4.3. Marketing (consent only)

If you consent to the "Marketing" category, technologies may be used to enable marketing/advertising measures or to measure their success.

Whether and which marketing technologies are actually used depends on the current status of our cookie banner and our privacy policy.

4.4. External content (consent only) – Google Maps

If you consent to "External content", we may load content from third-party providers, in particular Google Maps for displaying maps.
When loading, data (e.g. IP address, usage data) may be transmitted to Google.

The map is only loaded after you have given your consent (e.g. by clicking "Load map" or via the cookie settings).

5. Consent storage (not a cookie, but localStorage)

We do not store your selection from the consent/cookie banner as a cookie, but in the browser's localStorage.

Entry:

  • Name / Key: ks-consent
  • Storage mechanism: localStorage (not a cookie)
  • Storage duration: Unlimited (localStorage has no expiry date). The data persists until explicitly deleted (e.g. by you in the browser settings or programmatically).
  • Content: JSON object, e.g. { "Analytics": true/false, "Marketing": true/false }

Storage of your consent decision so that we can respect your selection on future page visits.

6. Granting, refusing and revoking consent

On your first visit to our website, you can use our banner to select whether and which categories (e.g. analytics, marketing, external content) are activated.

7. Deletion / Reset

You can reset your selection in two ways:

  • A: Via our website: open "Cookie Settings" and change or revoke your selection.
  • B: Via the browser: delete localStorage/cookies (browser function "Clear site data"). This will also remove the "ks-consent" entry.
